Why do I write?

The title of the blog is today’s prompt and is sort of a difficult response. I guess I primarily write in hopes of improving my skills. I don’t have any dreams of becoming a writer — actually, I do, but I recognize my limitations. Ultimately, as I help people on various websites, I want to be coherent and write simply so that translation programs can make the information more accessible to all readers. That said, the dumbing down of English is starting to bother me, so I am also hoping to find alternative ways of saying things without corrupting any translations.
