Rita and I took a detour on our way home from Colorado and decided to go to the Upper Peninsula (the UP – pronounced yoo-pee) of Michigan. It is someplace I had always wanted to visit but never had the chance. We were pleasantly surprised and greeted with outstanding weather. Early morning flight over Marquette, the bay, and the coal barge.

Interesting regional colloquialism — those that live in Michigan refer to those in the upper peninsula as Yoopers and the Yoopers refer to those that live under the Mackinac Bridge (south of) as trolls.
