On the Avada Users Facebook group several people have asked about a mysterious line that is cutting across the full width of an event page. This is the result of The Events Calendar updating their styling and the Avada team not updating the features they support. It stems from the fact that Avada provides a really nice feature – the meta sidebar – that is not a native feature of the calendar plugin. Fortunately, the fix is easy and in fact you have two options.

Option 1

The first option is to revert The Events Calendar back to its legacy styling. This is done through the display settings and unchecking “Use updated calendar designs.” Personally, I don’t think this is the ideal solution as the team from Modern Tribe have greatly improved the functionality of The Events Calendar with this styling.

Solution 2

The second, and preferred option in my opinion, is a simple CSS snippet added to your global CSS.

Copy to Clipboard

I am hopeful that after then next round of updates which are supposed to be focused on performance improvements, that the Avada team can resolve this and some other issues with The Events Calendar. The ability to create a custom event page layout would be a terrific addition.
