In October, Rita and I were able to check off another “bucket list” item – take a hot air balloon ride. Scheduled nearly eighteen months ago, we headed to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. All I can say is if you have been putting this off out of fear – stop. Like you, we went into this with a bit of apprehension, but this turned out to be one of the most peaceful experiences we have ever encountered. It helps that these were no “fly by night” gondolas and the pilot was very experienced.

We had been hoping for more autumn colors, but we were about two weeks too early. After the air adventure, Rita and I embarked on a covered bridge expedition, but many were not photogenic due to their proximity to private property and modern construction. Here are a few photos from the day.
